Introduction

This year the Irish Ergonomics Society holds its annual conference and AGM in conjunction with the H-workload Symposium. The IES conference runs on the morning and afternoon of June 28th, and the two and a half day H-Workload symposium kicks off at lunch time on the 28th. The IES conference afternoon session and the H-Workload symposium opening session, include keynote presentations by three world leading Human Factors experts (Prof. Peter Hancock, Prof. Chris Wickens and Prof. Karel Brookhuis).

The joint IES conference and H-workload symposium is an exciting opportunity to get up to date on the state of the art around mental workload, its models and applications. It brings together international researchers and practitioners from different disciplines, including human factors, computer science, psychology, education, and neuroscience. It is a platform to exchange ideas and experiences with new and emerging technologies with a worldwide audience of academics and industrial experts. Attendees of the full H-Workload symposium can attend the IES conference at no additional fee. Attendees of the IES Conference can attend the full day of events on June 28th, including the shared session with H-Workload.
