Irish Ergonomics Society Annual Conference 2013

The Irish Ergonomics Society Annual Conference 2013 will take place in the New Engineering Building at NUI Galway on 9th of May 2013. The theme of the conference is: Ergonomics and Innovative Technologies. The invited Keynote Speaker will be Prof. Neville Stanton from the University of Southampton. His presentation will be on Augmenting the Driver and Automating Driving – Investigations into the changing nature of the role of the driver with advanced vehicle systems.

In addition to the traditional papers presented at this conference, we intend to run a parallel Symposium on Human Factors and Ergonomics in Healthcare and Patient Safety. The invited keynote speaker will be Dr. Tom Reader, lecturer in Organisational and Social Psychology, Institute of Social Psychology, London School of Economics. His presentation will be entitled Leadership and team situation awareness during daily rounds in the Intensive Care Unit.
